Happy Birthday Mummy

Since mum's birthday fall on 13th Mar, Thursday, we decided to celebrate it during the weekend, 15th Mar. The Place...as recommended by the online forum..Red Star Restaurant

Some of the online forum we went to before we decide to try this place out

This one says...definitely return for another try....rating was 8.9 for the food


Another one...also recommended the place...rating was also around 8.5 for the food...


Though there are also some that say it bad


Some how, we miss the main door and enter by the back door where all the cooks are resting....the back door sure look "dirty"....Red Star Restaurant (back of the restaurant)


We arrive quite early, about 9.30am...not too much people....guess..we are the KS ones..


Fried prawn dumpling.."Ming Har Guo" as in Cantonese..This one was GREAT...nice...order 2 of them


Their Famous...Egg Tart....This is the BEST...Order 2 of them...and they are difficult to come by,...really popular..

The photo is blur...due to the low light ..and shaky hands...but this is "Chicken Leg" as the Emu mentioned..it.., but actually call..."Phoenix leg", Feng Jiao..This one was OK, Order 2 as well


Seriously, this must be one of the worst "Chee Cheong Fun" I tried..so far, even those at the hawker center taste much better....REGRET...


Century Egg Porridge...Tasteless...and not good at all....Crystal Jade ones...taste way better...


Siew Mai.....so so....bit on the salty side


Har..Gao...prawn dumplings....so so as well....nothing special...


Dumpling Soup...sama...sama...nothing special...and not very good also


This must be the 2nd worst...dish of the morning...Carrot Cake...taste...REAL BAD....Sticky and watery


A Better looking version of the carrot cake...this is the Fried Version...but same ingredient...so equally taste BAD

Their pomelo...Pudding...This is GREAT..sweet enough.....and refreshing....This is really Famous..in Malaysia..and my sis is telling me...Malaysia's ones..taste much better than this...

Overall, the Food Sucks....save for a few good dish...like the egg Tarts and the Dessert...everything else either taste super BAD or so so....and it Cost $99 altogether....


To think of it...they even got paper review..saying they are GOOD...looking closely...probably they are good at their main course dish...not for their Dim Sum....it either the standard of their Dim Sum drop super low....or we make a mistake lo...(haha)

The Run....5km...

The past 2 weeks having been really rich...starting to get job done actually...beside the daily status updates, I am now involved in experiment. It's really Fun..fun...

Work days use to last till 5.30pm sharp, but is getting to end later...at least 6pm to 7.30pm...is this a good sign??

Well, I finally join my collegues for a 5Km run around our company, those involve, V, F, S, Me...It was say to be 5km run....but it feel like more than that...

Overall, a pleasant and fun jog...I am surprise to finish 2nd among the 4 runners...But I think I went slower than I did in the gym on the Trendmill....haha...

Discover lot of new site I never have thought of...during the run, and Sengkang West is actually so near (5mins run away)...there is a church along YCK road....

Will update with photos when I join them this coming ...Tuesday, if it doesn't rain...looking forward...to joining them for more fun run around the company....

PC show, 2008, Mar

The date, Mar 8-9, Sat and Sunday

The Annual PC show..is back in 2008. It is quite usual for me to visit every PC/IT/Sitex, whatever they call it...to get some cheap deals....they do give out more "freebies" here at the show

The bad thing is ....THE CROWD...OF Frustrating people blocking all the possible EXITs with their printers...BODY...Baby trolley with baby inside(serious)

2 floors of PCs and Consumer products...(3rd and 6th floor @ Suntec City Convention Hall)

The Jam when trying to get into Suntec City Convention Hall...all these lazy people...didn't they know there is another short-cut, take u 5mins to get into the hall..rather than queue her for 15mins...

Everybody pack so close to each other on the escalator...

Blu-Ray player ...the industry standard for HD...HD-DVD is now History...BUT, blu-ray is still so Expensive....$999...I rather get PS3

Looking at the crowd...PS3 is going to sell big numbers...only thing preventing them from doing so is the sky high prices....$549 for 40GB, 799 for 80GB, plus...games cost at least $79...

Was there to get some memory cards (SD and SD HC for my future DSLR Camera :-)) and also to get a Seagate Free-agent Go 160GB for "k" , manage to get 2 sets of Free-Agent for $129. It was really crowded, not enough time to look at the best price for the SD cards, but 1GB cost around $10 now....

Comparison with my older Seagate first Generation drive...it is actually smaller and better design..I brought the older one for $199. FYI, the portable HDD on the left..is Seagate 1st 2.5" HDD....look how much technology have changed...

Hopefully I will save up enough $$ to get my DSLR in Jun during the Next PC show....getting very POOR after folking out the cash for this....gadget...

Movies....the results so far

Almost 3 months have gone by. So how many movies have I seen, and how many are bad choices...

8 Movies Altogether..., as usual, the Chinese movies are usually at the bottom of my list. It doesn't help when I found out that, King fu Dunk is already out on DVD, waste my $$

1 of the main reason I don usually watch Chinese movies is that they either come to DVD within weeks of their movies release in the theatre, or they have Lame storyline.

Let's have a short review of why I rated then...

Still the best show I have seen this year, minus the crazy camera works, the show is actually quite interesting and exciting....though lot of my friend complaint about vomiting..and the ending..

Film revolves around these 2 characters and a friend who help film them...this is the ending moments before the show ended...

The monster's offspring trying to come through the door...exciting moment...


Chaos...when the monster strike....on the street of NY City
Well heard they are trying to film Cloverfield 2, this better be good...


Well, I know this movie is targetted at the Kids, but it did so well in the States, and that got me curious ....Catchy tunes...and a funny storyline helps...I give it a 6.5/10


CG really does a good job in making them look cute...



I never seen the Chinese Version of this film, The Eye, not in theatres or on TV. Pretty straight forward horror show...few scene actually make me "jump"...sound effects are great...much like "The Ring", though I prefer the latter, but this is a good adaption IMO...Kudos...to the Chinese Directors who came up with this idea...

The 2 main character, Jessica Elba, the hot lady...blind originally...get a pair of special eyes.


Jessica Elba keep having dreams of the person who give her the eyes, and her new gift can save lot of people..


But she eventually become blind again...but happy


Stephen Chow's CNY movie...watch this show because it is CNY and also it Stephen Chow, meaning it should be a happy show. Overall I give it a 5.2/10...mainly for star, Stephen chow and the touching moment when CJ7 rescue Stephen and the crying power of the "lady" kid


Show is more like ET, so nothing special with the storyline. Mr Chow funny trademarks from all his previous movies...includes those who act in those can be seen here....

Can believe the kid is actually a girl???


This Cute CJ7...can make good toys...the ending of the show will tell you why..

Watch this show...as no one want to watch Ah Long Pte Ltd with me...hiaz....wasn't having high hope of this show...though paper give it better marks than our local productions...I think is more of an idol kinda show..

Jay chou and his secret in-love girlfriend....


This show is full of slow motion and cool basketball moves...but the jay..man himself...Really like the theme song..."Tofu" though...

Have recently seen Jumper and 10000BC....all I must say are disappointing though...update this...with more details...later

Durian...Durian...

Haven't try durian for a long long while ever since I become so concern with my diet...but today...is special...beside is my mum birthday....it also a day where my sis started having a good appetite...ever since she become pregnant...

So after having Dinner, walk by this Durian store...and she was already tempting me with the Durian.

We brought....2 boxes, $10 altogether..1 box of "XO bitter, small seed" durian and another "Cat mountain" durian...

You will like this if you like bitter durian...but don eat something too sweet first, else you will taste nothing when trying this out

The Date....3-Mar-2008, Monday, I have a small celebration with my family. I am 33...erm...ring a bell....33, 3-3-08. so many '3'.......(get the hint??)

Have dinner as usual, this time round another "Zhi Cha" store at Hougang Green. Call..."HK Street Zen Ji".

Call All my favorite food, but they don have soft-shell crab....lousy

Corn-flakes...squid..This one was ok, but still feel the one at Blk 684 is better

HK KaiLan...so so nothing special

Home-made Tofu...ok...can make it...

Honey-baked pork-ribs...was their recommended dish, but turn out...also normal, nothing special

Vegetable soup, still all right, but could have been better...
