PC show 2008 - 2nd this year

Well, it the 2nd time this year where PC show is being held, this time also @ suntec Convention center. I wend to "visit" it on a Friday evening and was really surprise by the crowd...it wasn't crowded at all, I take my time to look see around.

The First thing that caught my eyes...My idea Camera is on sale in singapore...Finally...and is Cost $1499, though cheaper than expected...it still steep compare to the other camera in the show floor...was really tempted to buy...seeing all the free gifts that come with it...(even got Hdd included)....but was really "broke" so decided to give it a miss.... I heard there is another model coming up...EOS 1000D, hopefully...that might bring the price down abit....wait for Sept'08....

The other Canon Camera were also on sale..and the offer are pretty attractive....I know next time...is to come on a friday and just grab the stuff I want...to avoid the weekend crowd...IXUS 960IS llok pretty cool here.....tempted as welll.....

Another cheaper Camera, IXUS 860IS, 8Mp, wide angle and $599, but just about 2Mp higher than the one I have now, IXUS 800IS....though.

Nowadays, the trend is to go Small....and light...Starhub is giving out HP Mini notebook, too bad, I still on contract...else this look like a good deal, though I quite surprise that the review say that this model is slower than ASUS EeePC....speaking of EeePC...

The Old Model , EeePC 4GB is going for only $398.....really really cheap, the bad thing only is that it's capacity only...quite limited...and is only for net surfing..nothing much..

They also have the higher model, EeePC 8GB for $598 though...I wait for their Intel Atom version of the EeePC to decide if it worth buying...heard The Atom is faster and uses less power...way to go....for road warriours.....I waiting to upgrade myself to one...since my stupid Toshiba Tecra....suck big big time....my advise...never buy a Toshiba...their service suck and reliability is big Zero for the jappy company..

Spotted, my ideal 22" monitor on sale from Samsung as well, this is the price I brought my current 17" LCD monitor...I wait for another 3mths to see if it drop to $399...this will make it ideal to get an Xbox360 or PS3. Speaking of this....Xbox360 is on sale...

Cost $499, but it was already at this price before the show...the only difference is the charger kit, live cam and the Halo 3 faceplate...quite worth it...but I heard they are dropping the price further in Sep....and the PS3 is only $100 more and is Bluray....I wait...

Was at the Seagate Booth and I found this New product......quite expensive..though....and 160GB is only $119, damn it, I got mine from Mar for 129.....hiaz...
Looking forward to the next show in Sept, where I will plan to buy something since this time round I did not get anything from the show.....

Singapore Bay Run...Next Target 21Km

After running my first 10K run, I thought to myself, well, that wasn't as hard as I thought, though I didn't clock a fantastic timing, I am telling myself, why not better myself this year to do a 21K, twice of distance...

I registered for the Singapore Bay Run, aka Army Half Marathon, Competitive men's closed category

From the route...we will start running at the esplande bridge...run to fullerton hotel...toward Sheares bridge...toward East Coast Park, wow this look far..

After which, there a "U" turn at East Coast Park to run toward Marina East, Cross the Marina Barrage toward Marina South, return to fullerton hotel, toward the padang...the finishing pt...

Look forward to the run, where I can see how well...I perform this time round...I am targeting a timing of about 2hrs..30min....though...since I did only 1hr 9min for a 10km.

Thinking of how I can improve and train for this 21K run....I only have like 1 and half months to go and with work....getting busier by the days....it's going to be a challenge...

But what is life without challenges....

Need also to collect the race pack on the 15-17 Aug though

  • Event T-shirt
  • Number Tag
  • Championchip -- for timing records
  • Goodie bags..(not sure what is in it...probably some promotion stuff)
  • Lucky Draw Coupon

Check the web, last year fastest timing is 1hr16min...wow, that like my 10K timing....and my target.of 2hr 30min will put me at 950th place....that does not sound very achieving....Got to Train real hard...ha

Wedding Dinner on Mother's Day

Attended the wedding dinner at my collegue, Vincent recently...too be honest...I got to know about his marriage plan when i just join the company....

Can see he is really popular and when he is not around, things are so much less...happening....he make really funny jokes...and lighten up a stressful work environment for alot of people, me included...

The wedding is held at this hotel near penisular plaza, Excelsior Hotel. The ballroom was pack with people.

This is the group of collugues which I work closely with...a really fun, happening and knowlegable people....got lot of things to learn from them....

Surprisingly, food was great and filling....as having tasted hotel in the orchard area, thought this hotel was not too famous for their food, I was pleasantly surprise.

Overall, it a great time of get-together and a joyicous occasion for vincent and his wife. I got to know Jimmy here as well, he is the guy whom I kinda "replace" as he move on to another position.

Hereby wishing him(vincent) a happy marriage and a wonderful next stage in his life...

My first 10km Event Run - Passion Run 2008

Did not really sleep early for the run though, was busy preparing for that day
  • getting all my sport attire ready
  • my number tag
  • my running chip (the timing stuff)
d
This is the "short Attire" aka singlet that come with the package. Not a really nice looking shirt though...Too bright...and i don usually wear such shirt for running.

My Lucky Tag no:4896. it 4 numbers....good for those want a good 4D number...

A few of my colleuges are running, we have Francis, PL and a collegues which i replace...jimmy running together. Took Francis's car to the location, East Coast Park. Got up really early at around 5.30am..took some milk and tag the ID chip on my shoes and is off I go

Flag off is at 7.30am...lot of people...i manage to get to the front and avoided the "lining up" to start the race...still smiling while running le

Am I suppose to turn here...I saw the finishing line on the opposite side....but the road marshal ask me to continue running toward the 15Km mark....was really exhausted already where is the finishing line....found out it is another 1.5km....total distance run 11.5Km...instead of 10Km...hiaz

My timnig : 1Hr 09mins.....I reach my 5km..at 34min...which is actually about the same time as what i did on the gym's treadmill....quite disappointed with the results though.

The only consolation is I run 11.5Km that why i took longer....making the calculation, i probably reach the actual 10k mark at arounf 1hr 2 or 3mins...

Aim to do better in 2009....Target...under 60mins...yeah...

This is the medal I got from the race...the most precisous of all...
Medal and Number Tag...
Was really tired after the race...went for breakfast after that....before setting off to work....yeah I got to work on sunday.....missing sunday church..hiaz...
