Playing Host to Douglas and Karen

Douglas and Karen Came down over to Singapore over the Chinese New Year Period. They use to come to Singapore quite regular, especially during the time when a couple of our friends are getting married.

The Meeting place was a rather good place to chill out, Em By the River @Gallery Hotel. Order some Drinks and snack. 

As usual, Dear was in a really "black" mood. All my Friend keep asking me why Dear was like this. I was like clueless...must be one of her super insecure days again..

 

As Dear was tired, She Left with Dorcas home while we (Daren, Ryan , Douglas, Karen) went on an island Search for Condo. Douglas and Karen are thinking of the possibility of staying in Singapore.

Went over to woodlands and Pasir Ris to take a look at the Condos. But with 40% downpayment needed for foreigner. We are talking about a 6 figure sum. 

Went over to Dempsey for Coffee. The Place - Jones the Grocer. Was quite a nice place with Cakes and Coffee for Order.

Ordered a Cup of Latte. And chat up away time on what is happening in our lives and those of Douglas and Karen, their new Marriage Life.

We Later went over to Balastier Road - Whampoa Keng Fish-Head Steamboat for Dinner.

Located @ Balastier Road. This is the Location of the Place. Can Bring Dear - The Food Critic to go Investigate their food.
Didn't know "Lau Yusheng" is not something very common in HongKong. Darren ordered a plate for our guests to experience....

It can get pretty messy after all the "lauing"...but it was fun, and I am sure Douglas and Karen enjoyed it.

One of the best Traditional Restaurant I have Tried so far.

I didn't join them for their evening Drinking session as I have to go to Church and also I got Safari Zoo Run the next morning. However, they will be having Dinner tomorrow Evening @ Melben.

Met up with th Gang on Sunday Evening, for a Feast @ Melben, Famous for their Crab Beehoon. Dorcas and Hubby, together with Junie and Eric + Rachel was here as well.

The Yummiest Crab-Beehoon I ever Tried!!! The Soup is amazing....

The Butter Crab Suited my taste as I didn't like spicy stuff expecially in a hot and sweaty weather like Singapore's.

We went back to Eric's Place for Some Drinking Session. Lucky Dear came up with a games that help me Reverse my winnings....much to the dislike of the Host and Company...lol.

Day 365th Attached

We finally reached our Day 365th. Can't Say it is very long. Things though kinda pass off very quickly if u reflect on the past. How it all started and then come all the insecurities. Was kinda expected, but didn't expected it to be so irrational. Something I totally clueless about how to deal with it as it affect me as a person.

Though I am pretty sure, both of us being together make us better than we are alone. The results are pretty clear-cut. I become more spiritual, seeking to know God even more now. Dear become more health conscious, grew more to love without expectations. Though I still can't manage or accept her insecurities. I realize that the root of all our argument boil down to this - Insecure.

As we go through this tough 6 months together (That is where the insecurities started), there is still short moments of happiness.

On this Special Day, As always, Dear is really super concious about me whether celebrating with her or not...Already Planning before I even do any research. The Place...is from Deals.com.sg

When it come to Food, Dear look ever happy....though is is PMS time.

For me...though I have tried Italian food before, that was ages ago. Waiting to see if they are Authentic

The Cafe was not a very big place. But alot of Caucasians seem to frequent this place. The owner came over to talk to us for a while. He really have a huge collections of Wines.

The counter where there are quite a number of Cakes on Display...The Owner here preparing food for us and the other customers in the cafe.

As usual, Dear's Head get extremely heavy when the food took too long

The Food here is Great... very tasty...though the portion are not very big, it is enough for the 2 of us.

Dear say she know how to make this dish.

Forgotten what is dish is...have alot of cheese and is vegetarian..

Smoke Salmon Squid Skin, Not as good as I though.....Tasted a little hard...lol
I got to first tasted this Coffee - Affagato when we have it at ice creamery. The one they make is very good as well. One of my Favorite here.

My Favorite - Tiramisu .. The wine taste is especially strong.

Lunch was satisfy....Our journey this 365 days although is filled with lot of ups and Downs, more down infact...But I still feel Dear is the one.....Wonder if she feel the same.....

1 Year is not short..not long...but Let's hope the coming 365th Day....we will use it to bring each other up even to a better position. To the place, God want us to be at.

We are pretty Creative at our Pressie for each other on our 1st Year Anniversary.

I received my most "loved" Pressie....My Dream Watch - A Seiko. Thanks Dear for the thought...

What I did for Dear is a Bit "Cheapo" Cost quite a lot  (Lesser than A Seiko) ....But Still met the Criteria that this Pressie come from me mean more ...as Only I can give this kind of present.lol

Dear did a DIY Photo Frame....but I have yet to find one photo for this....thinking...

Another Celebration with my Best Friends...

My branch of Friends.....that I still keep in contact since our Uni-days...It has been 10 years, time really flies. We go from giving each other presents to a gathering session.

This year is no difference, though, I become attached..I am glad our friendship still remain very much the same.

They were playing Mahjong....lucky donno how to play, else I will lose all my $$ to them. But these guys did bring some surprises....which I don really like.

 

But Lucky I still know how to play "Big 2"....not such a bad player at least for this game.

 

I think Beside me ....who might be the night biggest Loser, Eric is next in line...lol

Dear came over last minute to celebrate the evening with me...I am almost knocked out....after the numbers of shots I took because I lose the game.

Thanks for the 10 years of friendship. Lot of changes, but I am Glad we stay in contact. You guys make a big difference in my life. 

Cell's Birthday Celebration - First Time in a Home

Though today cell only got Baoqiang, my sister and bro-in-law, i still feel abit pansei by Weehiang and Chingwah celebrating my birthday. Used to Celebrate it with either a small presents or Cell outing..

Dear came after her cell with 2 cakes.. Birthday cake and cheesecake. The Cheesecake is for me...siao...They say Birthday month is always a feasting month..now I understand.

This is the time the young one..is the most excited....

Solving my Hair Problems??

Dear brought me to this shop... Saying it is recommended by her cell leader, lex. Decided to give it a try on my few remaining stray of hair.. 

It took quite a while, washing , then coloring.. Then letting it steam for the color to stay on..

The result, much darker hair. Feel good after the " treatment". But I wonder does it really help or not with hair growth. Since I have tried more established hair growing salon like Yunnan and Beijing 101.

We shall see. Thinking of signing up with them for about 10 sessions to see have effect and it is much cheaper than the more established salon. Only $280, compare to over 7k.

Celebrate Mother's Day Early at Zhou's Kitchen @ Novena Square. Tried there Ala Carte Selection, thought it was quite good and so decided to try their Buffet Lunch, Cost around S$20 after ++.

The Selection though is not alot, but as all of us either on diet or have small stomach. The Selection met everyone expectation.

Though the Buffet menu is not as extensive as the Ala Carte Menu, there is quite huge selections. I have been to numerous High Tea Buffet, thouse Typically cost $30++, and don have much "ZhiChar" stuff like those here. At 20++, I thought it was quite a good deal. The Food on the whole is definitely above average for most of the dishes....which is hard to find in those Hotel's High Tea Buffet...which usually have certain dishes good while the rest are dishes marketed @ Sky High Prices in the buffet.


Though the Fried Chicken doesn't taste any special, the Prawn Salad is Superb.

This is my Favorite Soup, Tasted like "Shark fin"..lol....Corn soup.

The Best Dish of the Buffet- Prawn Salad, Order a couple of this during the Buffet.

Dear's favorite...I love it only when Dear Peel of the Shell for me....(Sounded Bad)

These are also one of my Favorities,.....Wok-fried French Beans with Dried Shrimps

Totally Sinful (Fried) but I think it is still healthy....(Vege Protein)

They Even have Hor Fun.....in their Buffet Menu...Braised Sliced Fish Hor –fun with Egg Gravy

They also have a small variety of "Tim Sum" Menu

Was rather surprise, when mum agree to the waitress request to turn on the Birthday Song...it was surprising loud..

Eating and singing the Birthday Song, with Candle Blowing is Xuan Fav thing

Though mum din like the Fried Food, it was overall a time of get together....Next time ...need to go for healthy options when celebrating mum's Birthday.

Will try to do it on Mother's Day in May.
