A Course on Forex!! - Plan Toward Financial Freedom

Not been studying for a long long time....But recent days (or months) has been on how I can make my money grow for me....To achieve the financial Freedom where ones does not need to just depend on their jobs....Following the footstep of the World Richest Man --- Warren Buffett.

I Took up a course on Forex Trading....(Don ask me how much it cost....it is the cheapest around though) - Not exactly Warren Buffett Style though

Hopefully I make a correct choice.....reaping the performance here to invest into Equity....But initial Testing of their stragedy seem hard to locate and involve lot of time.....

We shall see, as most of collegues are doing quite ok...learning the trade...

Summer Movies : Star Trek

I have always been excited about sci-fi movies, and movies with lots of CG and Action sequence in it.....Last year, Indian Jones and Iron Man, and recent Transformers are good example.

I went into the theater not expecting much but the usual "popcorn" movie fare.....I am really surprise they re-invented the movie so well, the 126min feel short but I never felt a moment of boredom. This should be the Best Movie of the Year so far. Let's see if Terminator Salvation, Transformer 2 and Harry Potter can top this one..

Star Trek use to sound to me as some "old Man" group in a spaceship traveling about exploring worlds. It's an inferior Star-wars. More of a Drama then a Sci-fi film. This all is set to change with Star Trek 2009. They replace the entire crew member and they really fit into the character really well..though I never follow any of the series anyway, and don really know any of the character except Captain Kirk, and Spock(the guy who make the "V" sign using his hands)

Story goes into telling how it all beginning. The main focus is Captain Kirk and Spock. How this 2 character grew-up and how they goes from enemy to best Friends. Both take up a relative long screen time, but it is them who make the movies interesting to watch....their Adventure....

As with most Sci-fi films, this one did it with much details that one would be satisfied by the amount of CG effect on screen every moment of the time. An Enormous Star Fleet. Not sure if this is an effect, there is alot of len flare in the movies.....(quite distracting at times though)


I didn't know the phase " Beam me up Scotty" come from the film. It got something to do with the character who control a teleport machine, and he is actually very good at it....teleport can even happen when u are in "Wrap" speed, aka travelling @ speed of light.

Did u all know that this Alien, is acted by Eric Bana, the guy who acted as the incredible Hunk....I totally couldn't regonise him. This is the only Alien on the show and he is vert much superior to the human, The look at the size of their space ship and u would know....the Human don stand a chance...

Zoe Saldana as Uhura, she is the love interest to Spock, Was surprise, I thought she was suppose to end up with Kirk, but instead, she fall for spock, who maybe is more secured? Kirk is like a "playboy"...lol....But she is one hot lady though...

Karl Urban as Dr. Leonard, he entered the screen with a very negative message of space..but end up as Captain's Kirk best buddy in academy. Always there helping kirk from his problems (aka troubles)

This guy use to act in some slapstick comedy, finally got a chance for a breakthrough, he is John Cho as Sulu. Kinda like our only "Asian" Representative in the Enterprise...lol. He was actually quite good here...

This is the "Beam me up Scotty" guy, Simon Pegg, he appear about 3/4 into the movies during the time when Captain Kirk was on this "ulu" planet. This guy help beam Kirk back to the Enterprise while in Wrap Speed...cool men....


There is alot of Action Sequence to watch in the movies, I didn't know Captain Kirk will parachute down at high speed to disable the "drill bit" I always use to think he always seat at his command post giving out commands...lol

There u have it, the New crew of the Enterprise. I expect them to make many more sequel of this....young Star-trek Adventure....It's really exciting....hopefully the Director JJ Abram is in it as well

I probably rate this a 4.5/5 and is definitely a must see this summer season

As of today, The Film will become 2009 top movies in terms of boxoffice receipt, $191Million and counting, outdoing Wolverine($165Million) and even Museum 2($69Million and Terminator($67Million) until Transformer 2 come along at the end of June

Interesting Ford Video from Amercian Idol 2009

Call me crazy, the past few days are basically spend catching up on the Amercian Idol songs that I have missed. Came across these interesting video done by them....with their Sporsor FORD.

FYI, the Top 2, Kris Allen, Adam Lambert got their Hybrid Ford FOC....how lucky.....This is an interesting duet between them....they really are quite good together.....hopefully they can support each other in their album release. This probably would help ease the tension the fans from both camp current have.....(both are attacking each other, why Kris or Adam did not win or loss)

Kris's Single "No Boundaries" is on the itunes Top100 #1 single together with his edition of "Heartless" at no 4. Adam is not far behind #6, with Mad world.

Just too bad, how come we cannot download the song from itunes..now....they only restrict it to the US and Canada...(lame)

Was never a Fan of the series, but during my "MC" days I did manage to catch some repeat telecast of the show.

I was watching the Top 3 Performance, aka 3 guys namely Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Danny Gokey. I am impress by their performance. I serious think all of them are going to sell out their album.

Adam Lambert was the one they label as the "rocker" . I can see why, cos he really can sing those high notes and is definitely vocal superior to the other 2. I must say he is very versatile and basically can sing anything well thrown at him. But though I think he more suitable for Rocky music though. Rumors have it that he is "gay" as photo taken of him kissing men...but the girls are crazy for him...(Well what can u expect, he got the looks and the voice)

Danny Gokey look tad older than the 2 competiting, sounded more hoase as well, but I feel he more into the rock as well though shy of Adam's Performance and the judges are also finding more fault with him like the scream...... - He was Eliminated though

This is one unique contentant, First up, He got the look but not the build, he does look short compare to Adam. He plays the Guitar, Piano and is more of the Jason Marx kinda song, I must say his vocal cannot be compare to Adam, His is softer and weaker, but I feel he more suitable for Jason Marx kinda song, especially when accompany by the guitar. Label as the Dark Horse this season, He might spring a surprise. (Serious I do hope so)

Comments from the finals performance which I saw just now seems to point to a political correct anwser when ask to judge the performance, But we can see their fav is still Adam.

This year, they have an "indian" if i not wrong on the show, kinda remind me of slumdog millionaire effect, but he was eliminated in the top 5 show though (If I not wrong)

Last year, front runner use to be David A, with his youth and innocent looks, he got the vocals and the looks, but he loss out to the Dark Horse, a rocker, David Cook. Ironically, his album sell better than Cook's one though. (Seriously, I think his music is more mainstream)

The American idol standard is definitely better than our local idol contestant. They really know how to arrange their music such that they sound original and where can we find contestant taking chance by playing instruments on local TV. They did that in American Idol.

Prediction
I think Adam Lambert will win, cos of his vocals. Though I personally prefer Kris Allen to win, mainly for his Talent of musical instrument, rather creative music arrangement, and a humble, low profile outlook, somethings which I related to. Let the Votes beginning and the cash bells....RINGS (Though I can't vote )

Results

Was surprise.....serious. Miracles do happen, this must be the thought, kris must have felt. You should watch how he reacted to the win. Totally Humble, his Trademark.

Well, it a long road ahead for him. Will definitely goes to buy his album when it released. On the Finale, he sang 2 songs, one with Kiss a Girl, this song really show his advantage here....these are the song that suit him alot.....and also No Boundaries, where he did something though less powerful, but unique...

I just loss a Tooth....a very precious one....

t's has been bothering me for the past 3 month.....almost to the extend of waking me up in the middle of the night.

The time has come to put an end to this ordeal!!

I went to Punggol, WH Dental to have this removed once and for all.!!


It wasn't as painful as I thought it would. Definitely less pain then having to endure it every-night, and the good thing is that I get to take a week off just by removing it....so this is kinda like a long break for me (Hopefully I won't get retrench for doing this...lol)

Process took about 30mins, 3 needles of "mah" medication shots and I can't feel anything, even talking and rinsing my mouth with water become a problem

It's follow with a Deep cutting action, not sure what the dentist is cutting and which part, but I can feel he is using alot of force, drilling action is next, some tingling feeling here, and lastly, he use a tool to pull the teeth gently out.....in-fact, he actually broke my tooth into 2 parts....

Cotton bud for my tooth and 2 sets of antibiotics and 2 sets of pain-killers and mouth-wash is what I need for after care...

2 days of soft-diet is making me super-hungry, however by the 3rd day...things look better and I started normal food but only eating from 1-side of my mouth though...

2 Wedding Dinner coming up!!....getting poorer...lol

Just Received 2 of these cards. These events are coming up in June. On a Wed and Sunday to be exact. One of them happen to be on my 10k Mizuno Mt Faber Run.

They happen to be relatively close friends...lol....thus the Red Packet are expected to be BIG for them. WL and B, must be happy if they read this!!

I shall Start saving up for these events....and it also a good meet-up session as well...with fellow university mates as well as former colleagues...

You bet I will have my camera ready, just undecided which one to bring? IXUS or EOS?

Summer Movies : X-Men Orgins : Wolverine

Caught up with this one on a Late Sunday evening. Wasn't expecting much from this as I wasn't much of a fan for X-men, Wolverine. Review are mixed as well, mostly lousy.

Talks about how Wolverine came about, before his transformation and after he got his "metal" Claw through an implantation.

Initially, he was with a group of mutants which eventually got killed off 1 by 1 by his brother, FYI, Wolverine kill his own dad accidentally and both him and his brother run off from home there after. His brother become Sabre tooth....

He met up with new ones after his old gang were all killed, Gambit was one of them,


He is basically indestructible, and only the metal that make his claw can cause some damage, but still he won't die...

The first half of the movie, talks about his beginning, how he kill his parents and lives with his brother, his failed grouping with the mutants when he learn that their motives are evil. Later in the 2nd half, after he got transform, It's all about seeking revenge after his girlfriend, who is also a mutant was "killed"

Turn out that the "human" aka the normal people are using these mutants to create a super-weapon using the mutant's DNA, Wolverine team up with his "bad" brother to kill them all off. You see the humble beginning of cyclope here as a lost teenager who donno what to expect.

Prof X make his debut at the end of the show, to link up this movie with the first X-men movie some year back.

Will there be a Sequel?
I doubt so, the show wasn't bad, but the ending does not show that they will continue the story which have already been done in the first X-men Movie

But I think they will spin-off using X-men Origin with the X-men characters, they might take on Magneto, Cyclope, Jean, storm or even prof X. Hollywood is good at re-inventing the genre to make more $

Worth the $9 or $10 ticket prices?
Depends, It' will be a YES if

• you are an X-men fan, YES
• Movie-bluff like me who are suck up for movies..lol
• Just want to enjoy a movies with CG and action sequence

However, If u are quite critical about the quality of the show, then this may not be for you. It has quite a typical story-line as most summer movies, and if u have seen all the X-men movies, then this one seem about the same, furthermore effects are not extraordinary though and there are less impressive mutant feature here, only Wolverine, Gambit are impressive and interesting characters.

Overall, Rated it about 6 out of 10. Mostly for the effects and a reasonable length and commendable performance from Huge Jackson. Link up pretty well with the X-Men Movies but failed on probably a predictable storyline and not enough mutants featured?... I leave it to the audience to decide for themselves. It's still a good movies to enjoy.....Too Bad, the film is not available in 3D or IMAX in Singapore though. It would add so much to the movie experience.

Updates : It has earned about $131million at the US box-office and is expected to reached at least $170Million. Though, X-men Trilogy Earn : X-men - $157Million, X-Men United - $215Million, X-Men Last Stand - 234Million. That will put it at 3rd out of 4th.

South Ridges - Walk-a-ton..event with my Collegues

Our First Combined company outing event which is usually held every quarter. Kinda like a get-together session...aka Team building + stress relieved for most of us. The objective is to walk the South Ridges from Kent Ridge Park..Started off at the HQ


A short briefing by the committee members and we are off....

The Walk started at around 3.30pm and we are suppose to take photos are various points for competition to win a "company product", make by us....!!....

Along the way, found some great photo-spots though...

Start-off point from Kent Ridge park, am quite surprise that I can see the sea from here....we must be at a pretty high (aka in singapore Context) elevation

Ships awaiting for Port-calls, could have been more crowded during bull run times...lol

Weather was hot at well, approximate 32C to 34C if I not wrong.....


Came upon a nice pinic spot, didn't know there is this kinda of "river" in the middle of a park...look so much like a reservoir.

Even "Christmas trees" can be found here in the park.

We approaches our first photo competition spot, but way too many people queuing....decided to give it a miss and move on down to an easier spot to take.

While walking in the "forest Trail" we took opportunity to take photos.....

We walk pretty fast, and reached Hort Park.....aka a park where all the factories are surrounding it....I saw NOL in the background.....(I must be Stock crazy!!)

With so many Tech company surrounding the park, no wonder the playground is electronic as well...!!

A step of metal bridges is up ahead, don know what they call this...but walking across may scare those with height sickness as looking down at the gaps can he quite giddy...lol

By Altitude, We are climbing up...the sea-view become clearer...as we walk....

We will be having our Dinner up on the hill...some with a full-pack of rice/egg/vege/pork and fruits with a bottle of mineral water!!

But monkeys are all around on the Henderson waves and they are smarter than us...and grabbing our food..."chick" fellows....I stay away from these fellows as they can be quite temperamental. Saw it chase one of my collegues...for complaining against it....lol

Look for food the easy way, but stealing from us....

As Henderson waves is the ending point, we decided to take shelter under all these arces and rest while waiting for dinner...in the meant time, took some time to take photos with colleagues which we work so close together...

The evening concluded with ice-cream session, I actually ate 2 magnum. It's a long weekend ahead so it probably resting time for most of us...
