Got a special Gala Première Ticket for 贺岁片 - 龙众舞, from one of my Church Mates, Charles and Melina, It is the first time I ever attended a Gala Premiere. It seem to be rather grand.
The Original Cast for Last year 贺岁片 - 大世界 come back for another outing in the year of the Dragon.
The Premiere Theatre - The Grand Cathay. It's the largest Theatre here. It's full house though. Aka lot of Company representatives and of course those who Queue to get the tickets from the Radio Station 933.
The Stars of the show entered the theatre and make a short speech(Each of them) before all of them settle down for the movie.
The Plot is very typical of MediaCorp Drama, Center on a Character played by Li Ming, The granny looking actress from Malaysia. She long for a son in the Dragon Year, but non of her kids are marrying or having a kid. All her kids each have their problem either in finding love or in their marriage lives. Aunty Lucy is the elder daughter, who look like is not going to give them a baby Dragon any sooner, 2nd Daughter play by Kim Ng is a Tomboy which make it hard for guys to take notice. Youngest son played by a Malaysian is not keen to have a kid and having lost his job, he came back during the CNY Period alone after a quarrel with his wife.
They suddenly found a child in their mids, and the whole story revolves around baby-sitting the kid with lot of funny jokes. In the mids, Romance form and altogether the ending is a Festive one.
But I can't stop wondering, how bad this movie was in term of substance compare to last year 大世界 which have many beautiful memories of the place and the characters speaks to us. This is total not present here. It seem rather rush and money driven for the box office.
It is not a very bad movie, but I was glad that we got to see it FOC. lol
